Bishop’s Castle has a fascinating past shaped by its landscape. This rich heritage is interpreted through a number of local history organisations that are active in the area.
The Forum was established in 2013 as a Heritage Steering Group for the Bishop’s Castle Town Hall Renovation Project. Since then, it has developed into a group sharing ideas and information as well as supporting and promoting heritage events in the area.
Forum members have carried out extensive research into history, archaeology, architecture and landscape. This work has been published in a variety of formats – books, pamphlets, research papers and on the web.
The Forum is proactive, it promotes steering groups for new projects and publications, it organises exhibitions, conferences and is first port of call for information about the heritage
of South West Shropshire.
